  140.        _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n  When you do accept to replace the default mail
  141.        transport agent sendmail by the Netscape Messaging Server,
  142.        it will make several modifications for you that may break
  143.        other parts of your system. Here's a list of the changes:
  144.
  145.           +o Since Netscape Messaging Server doesn't invoke
  146.             /usr/bin/mail as the root user, it needs to be able to
  147.             write to the default mail spool directory ////vvvvaaaarrrr////mmmmaaaaiiiillll////.
  148.             The install program will want to have the setgid bit
  149.             set on that directory.
  150.
  151.           +o The Messaging Server wants to replace the finger daemon
  152.             with its own, and it will ask you to let it comment out
  153.             the "finger" line in /etc/inetd.conf.
  154.
  155.           +o Two directories will be created for the Messaging
  156.             Server's files, /var/spool/mailbox and
  157.             /var/spool/postoffice, by default. You can choose where
  158.             they will actually be located.
  159.
  160.           +o A configuration file will be created and used by the
  161.             Administration Server 3.5; you should not modify that
  162.             file by hand. It is at /etc/netscape.mail.conf.
  163.
  164.           +o The Messaging Server will kill the sendmail daemon so
  165.             that it can take over the SMTP port. It will also
  166.             rename your /usr/lib/sendmail file to
  167.             /usr/lib/sendmail.bak and create a symlink to
  168.             NSHOME/bin/mail/server/bin/sendmail.
  169.        Finally, when you decide to run the Netscape Messaging
  170.        Server, you will see two programs running in the process
  171.        list.
